JEANENE FOX, an actress - born in the Bahamas.
EARLY LIFE:
As a smart but waif thin schoolgirl attending Nassau's Kingsway Academy, the once shy Jeanene was often taunted with the nickname "Bean-Pole Jeanene" - a moniker she would ultimately wear proudly when those legs that spanned for days and striking appearance - catapulted her into international success.
Jeanene is a stunningly splendid mix of her native Bahamian father and Italian-Canadian mother (who was a former world champion medal-winning athlete and Olympic high jumper in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics).
A gifted athlete like her mother and brother (her eldest sibling Rick Fox a three-time NBA World Champion basketball player with the Los Angeles Lakers) - Jeanene excelled in many sports including softball, swimming and track and field - the family room's shelves quickly crowded with her awards and trophies. However, friends thought Jeanene far too feminine too pursue a career in sports - but as luck would have it, she wouldn't have to.
AN ISLAND DISCOVERY:
Jeanene's professional modeling livelihood began at age fifteen when an acclaimed German photographer visiting Paradise Island in the Bahamas, saw Jeanene - and her long limbs - in a tree picking grapefruits and persuaded her to pose for a local magazine cover.
The layout that followed was a startling success and after signing with an agency, Fox found herself the Bahama's most sought after subject for print, runway and commercial work. But the islands would become too small for such long limbs.
Her striking exotic looks and natural prowess on the catwalks and in photos paved the way for a steady stream of advertising and runway opportunities around the world.
She made the most of them but soon yearned to return home after a lost of direction and depression - Jeanene decided to take time off to visit her brother in Los Angeles.
MOVING BACK ONE STEP AND FORWARD THREE STEPS:
In Los Angeles, Jeanene seamlessly shifted focus to pursue her educational endeavors. Proving that beauty and brains can, indeed, be found in the same package, she graduated at the top of her class with a perfect 4.0 GPA and multiple Bachelor degrees in Apparel Manufacturing and International Business.
School was out, but her four year hiatus from the entertainment and fashion world would be short. After being rediscovered in a local bar in Beverly Hills by a modeling agent, Fox re-signed with top-tier agency Elite Models and work was calling upon her again.
ENTERTAINMENT CAREER:
Fox's acting debut came in 2006 in the globally popular Axe/Lynx commercial spot "Billions". As the star of the commercial donning a trim red bikini Jeanene's seen hurtling through a matrix of swamps and forestry to a beachfront full of beauties. This ad has won a Cleo Award and has aired in over 100 countries worldwide - becoming a perennial favorite on YouTube with over 40,000,000 million viewers. As of August 2010, after five years the commercial is still playing on T.V.in countries around the world.
In that same year Jeanene was chosen by The Oscar Academy, to be the exclusive Trophy Model for "The 77th Anual Academy Awards" having the opportunity of working closely with Hollywoods greatest (Morgan Freeman, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslett, Sean Penn, and Martin Scorsese etc).
Other entertainment opportunities arrived thereafter "Big Momma's House 2", "Ugly Betty", "GMC Denali" directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), "Match.com" directed by Tony Kaye, "Miller Lite Advertisement" in The 50th Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Anniversary Edition, "Absolut Vodka", "MAC Advertisement"", "Maxim Magazine", "GQ", "FHM", and "Vanity Fair", etc.
SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST:
In the Fall of 2007, while vacationing in Italy, a casting director for "Striscia La Notizia" (the most watched television programme in Italy) noticed Jeanene from her AXE "Billions" commercial that was playing on TV at the time, and pleaded for her to make a celebrity appearance on the show that night. Going with her gut instint, Jeanene excepted the offer and made the two minute celebrity appearance, which lasted for one week due to the enormous viewership.
Jeanene returned to her working life in Los Angeles, but due to the economic crisis rising in America - the months following would force Jeanene to return to Europe.
Like a Caribbean Hurricane Jeanene swept through the hearts of the Italians. Every night all of Italy tuned in at 8:30 to watch Jeanene "La Filippona" in a bathing suit perform countless comedic sarcastic parodies with well renowned Italian television host Enzo Iacchetti and Ezio Greggio.
The outstanding success as "La Filippona" opened the doors for other important film, commercial and print work. One in particular - "WIND" commercial campaign with famed Italian comedian actors Aldo, Giovanni & Giacomo - in six memorable commercial spots directed by Marcello Cesena, where Jeanene played a sultry and fierce panther-like accomplice.
Finishing off an incredible 2009, Jeanene was casted in the role as the beautiful, and mysteriously sly "Sonia" in the star-studded cast (including Christian De Sica, Massimo Ghini, Sabrina Fellini e Michelle Hunziker) in the number 1 grossing film "Natale a Beverly Hills".
FUTURE:
In September 2010, Jeanene Fox signed on as 'Jenny' in the cast of "Ameriqua" which shot in Rome and Bologna , Italy this September - an american feature film written by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. III, (relative to the late Bobby Kennedy - Ex-President of the United States of America in 1968).
The film will be a dramatic comedy inspired by young Kennedy's III time spent as a student in Italy. The film is due to release worldwide in 2012. In the cast as well - Alec Baldwin and Giancarlo Giannini.
In April 2011, Jeanene Fox finished shooting a new TV Mini Series called "The Bodyguard" - "Sotto Protezione" (Italian Title), which was shot on the island of Malta with Italian Actor Adriano Giannini (Swept Away), Enrico Silvestrin (Distretto Poliziotto) and American Actress Katrina Law (Spartacus). The TV Movie will be released 2012 in Italy, and around the world.
CURRENTLY:
Currently Jeanene resides in Los Angeles and Italy, and despite her ongoing success still maintains her undeniable naturalness and down to earth island disposition.
